Jackery SolarSaga 80

I took this camping on the Nibrara river last weekend (brand new, just got it)! Go to bottom for TL;DR (5 stars overall). The panel itself is sturdy and waterproof. With occasional partial cloud cover, this charged my Jackery 300 from 10% to 100% in 6 hours. Unlike other Jackery models, it does not charge non-Jackery devices by itself (BUT it will charge the generator while the generator charges other devices). It does not fold (I would prefer a foldable joint in the middle for increased portability, even if the total surface area had to be increased some to maintain the conversion efficiency). The case should be a bit sturdier than it is; the cargo is precious, greater wind-resistance would improve the reflective charging slightly. The cords are durable and handy and have nice velcro wraps. Setup is super quick and it is easy to secure with a cord and lock if you are leaving it for a few hours. I don't know exactly how much more efficiently it charges compared to other models, if at all, but I am definitely satisfied by the charging speed. TL;DR Overall 4.5 to 5 stars: A seriously efficient, handy, and durable piece of technology that is visually pleasant, but could maybe use some practical tweaks to design or additional options.

Purchased this to go along with an Explorer 500 for off grid camping, and it simply works great.Was able to get 78 watts out of it on a cold fall morning without direct sunlight. This newer panel also has nice rubber bumpers on each corner to prevent accidental damage during transport. The leg to hold the panel up at an angle is built well, and the carrying case that doubles as a reflector helps get even more power out of this panel.So far, the only gripe about it is the lack of a USB plug directly on the panel for charging devices. It only has one output which is the wire to connect it to your Jackery. It does have an input to daisy chain a few panels however.Overall, it is a well built unit that will survive if left out in a rain storm. Can't wait to give it a go in the summer sun.

I am very impressed with the new 80 watt solar panel. The water resistance rating is very high and it is not in danger if accidentally rained upon. And morning dew is not a panel killer either.The built-in corner protection is beefy. I imagine many panels get their corners whacked while carrying the panel around. These are well protected.Being the first Jackery two-sided panel it picks up extra power from reflected background light. The cover is awesome as well. It is reflective silver on the inside, and can be set up to reflect foreground light up to the front face, or to reflect more background light to the back face. A clever and useful design!My choice to get these over the Solar Saga 100 watt panels was based on the backside charging and water resistance. The backside can supply much of the missing 20 watts. The substantial water resistance means that it won't die if it gets morning dew on it, or if it rains while I'm out on a hike. Just make sure your generator unit is properly protected from these possibilities!

I bought this solar panel to use at events to run computers and such when there was no outlet. Turns out my battery power is so good i didnt need it for my intended purpose. Instead i charge my battery in the house, then charge my devices from the battery -- I have seen this charge my battery at a pace of 73 watts in direct sunlight, but from behind my house windows the most i have seen is 5 watts. At the time of purchase i had no idea that windows would filter out the part of the sunlight used for power generation. Its too much of a pain to carry this in and out of the house everyday so ill probably only use it for special occasions.
